Composed in 2007 (premiered on Feb 3rd 2007 by Helena Juntunen, soprano and Markus Vaara, piano at The Church of Temple Square in Helsinki).

In the spring of 2006 I received a very interesting request: Ahti Alatalo, long-serving head of Oulu Conservatory would have his 60th birthday coming x-mas and he would receive a musical present. His closest family had this idea of commissioning a work from me with lyrics by Paavo Haavikko. This was a very welcome work for me as I think Mr. Alatalo has worked hard to make high quality musical education available in Oulu. This work is dedicated to him. It was premiered during the festivities at the conservatory just before x-mas.
