For solo piano
The birth of the 3 movement Lätäkkö was a quick, dream-like experience. I looked out my studio window and saw my wife Eine watering our freshly planted lawn. The work came out by itself, no alterations were necessary. It is minimalistic in nature. The word “lätäkkö” is interesting in itself, depending on context, one may describe many kinds of water with very different meanings. Water has been one of my biggest sources of inspiration since childhood. |
