This work was commissioned by painter Jouko Alapartanen to include one of his poems. At first, the poem was difficult to access, but eventually the completion seemed relatively effortless. The overall feel of this piece is somewhat tense and strained, but on the other hand the context of the poem, “ a discontent heart” and ceaseless longing for something better seemed to need the kind of expression I ended up choosing.
